When you manage to get out of the worst of the fighting and stagger to your feet, you see that Steve and Natasha are taking down every single one of the Hydra agents and their security detail. You wonder for a second or two exactly what the hell is going on (your head’s swimming; your analytical skills are not in great shape right now), but then you step forward (lancing pain through your right side, and you limp heavily over to the other foot) and take a swing or two of your own at one of the green-uniformed goons.

In the process, you find out that the blow to your back has done a number on your ability to punch with your right arm, too, and thank God you’re left-handed, even though you missed both times, even though you end up on the ground again and Steve and Natasha subdue the rest of the Hydra “negotiators” alone. It doesn’t take them long, and when they finish, Natasha helps you up off the ground while Steve calls in S.H.I.E.L.D. backup to help the three of you deal with the increasing numbers of Hydra personnel between you and the extraction point where you need to be.
